It's a NEW YEAR!

Let's take a look at last year's goals....

In 2011 I hope to:

Lose 10 more pounds- Done I'm sure I lost ten pounds because when I hurt my knee in June I weighed 125 and I'm sure it was all my muscle mass due to having to take a break. (It would have helped if I listed how much I weighed at the time haha)
Completely potty train Leila- Done! She is good at going potty although she NEVER flushes the toilet at home. She insists she gets to flush the toilet when we are anywhere but home.
Get some good renters and be happy with them- Done! We found our renters in March this year and couldn't be happier with them. The best thing is we haven't had to repair ANYTHING while they have lived there. We share a storage room and their apt is always spotless when I go down there. I love it!
Go to the temple at least once a month. Uhhh I don't think this one happened. Sadly.
Have at least 1 interview for a real teaching job. Why did I make this goal? Oh yeah I thought I wanted to be a teacher.
Get pregnant- Done! Baby girl #3 is due in April 2012. Thanks Aubrey!
Finish the hallway remodeling- halfway done. We wall papered over labor day but unfortunately neither Aubrey or I wanted to paint the trim a head of time.
Be more than half way done with the master bathroom- Sike! We haven't even touched it. It's still as nasty as ever and still never been used by us.
Get another 10% of the house paid off- Done! Aubrey and I find joy in making our house payments!
Teach some fitness classes out of my home- I haven't done this officially but I have had some friends come over to work out. I don't know if this is really a goal anymore though. We'll see.
Put more effort into magnifying my callings- Done. I am still a ward missionary and still loving it! I feel like I have really made a difference. I even got to speak in church about it.
Learn to play the left hand on the piano- again why is this goal here?
Do my visiting teaching every month- Done. With the help of my lovely companion. We've been together for quite some time and I love that we get things done.
Get my bachelors degree- DONE!
Keep the house clean while going to school- Left undone. Who ever gets this one done?

Oh My Leila Jade!

Leila is singing, "sittin in the front seat sittin in the front seat. Friday Friday" May 10 Leila: these are for Anna and yocome. I will draw them. Can you send them to the mail? May 12 We're reading the scriptures we see a picture of Jesus. Leila: Jesus! Can I go see him? Me: One day. Leila: Will you take me to him? Me: I'll try. Leila: Okay good. May 13 I Just mopped the floor. Leila: wow mommy you did a good job! May 17 I walk in the kitchen to find reeses pieces all over the tray of Lexi's high chair. Me: Leila, Lexi cannot have candy she's only a baby! Leila: BABIES WANT CANDY THOUGH!!! She wants it she wants it. May 17 Went through my bags from my shopping trip at Walgreens only to find Leila slipped in some nail polish. The brand? Sinful colors. May 20 So I go through my bags from Walgreens only to find that the cashier accidentally put the nail polish I returned (from when Leila stole it) back into my bags! Need to go and return it once again. I yi YI! May 23 Leila gets into her closet then starts talking...... "I need my shoes. To go fishing. On the car. I'm going to get a subway sandwich. And chips. And juice. And a cookie. And cake. Then I will eat it. On the table. And fish. By myself..... Do you want to come mommy?" May 25 Had some fun with Leila tonight... she bit her toe so we told her to bite the other one. She could do that. Then we told her to bite her knee. She succeeded. Then we told her to bite her elbow. She was pretty disappointed that she couldn't do it.... hahahaha it's fun to be a parent. May 28 Leila: Why do you like daddy? Me: Because I'm in love with daddy! Leila: But why is he sometimes dingy? Me: Everyone is dingy sometimes. hahahah June 2 I was reading a book when I heard Lexi laughing and I realized she crawled away. Yes I found her next to Leila's bed poking her eyes while she slept. June 3 Leila is potty trained!!!!! Me: How do you feel about potty training? Leila: I don't know!!!! June 4 Leila: I want to see flowers. Me: You can when we drive up 36th street. Leila: Really? Oh my goodness! I just love camping with flowers! June 6 Me: So you want to pick up these toys or should I just vacuum them up? Leila: Um how bout you just put them in my room? June 7 Me: get daddy a fork please. Leila: ummmmm Aubrey: did you get me a fork? Um yes or um no? Leila: ummm you can just use your hands. June 9 Me: You want to go visit daddy? Leila: No... Stephan! (Stephan Hicken) Me: Okay Maybe later. Leila: NO right now. I want to go right now. June 27 Leila: Someone whistled at me and I liked it. June 28 Me: you are so smart! Where do you learn all this? Leila: daddy... and you help me do this (insert kissy face and silly faces here). I guess she's mostly right! June 28 Me: Roxy is going to marry Ian! Leila: Oh what Ian? Roxy like a little girl like me is getting married!? A minute later... Leila: uncle Ian, uncle Ian, uncle Ian July 7 Leila: Hey can you give me a car so I can go to the store and buy something? Probably some sandwiches. July 7 Leila: I'll be back. Me: where you going? Leila: to the office, to work. I have a job to do. July 7 Me: Go and get dressed so we can hang out with Jenny and Roxy. Leila: But I am naked. Me: Okay go put a dress on. Leila: But Care Bears rub their stomachs. July 8 We're at zurchers picking out helium balloons. Me: k Leila pick out a balloon. Leila: I want water balloons to throw at daddy. July 14 Leila takes a tape measure and holds it up to her bed... "I'm going to measure this..... its 20 pounds" July 19 Leila: I want to watch short berry pie. Aka strawberry short cake. Haha cracks me up every time. August 2 We are hanging out on my bed and I'm trying to get Leila to hug me and she won't. Me: Leila you need to keep me warm. Leila: I don't want to. Me: You have to. I kept you warm inside my stomach for 9 PLUS months! How are you going to repay me? Leila: I don't want to repay you. I will cover your eyes so you can cry!!! August 11 Me: Do you ever brush your hair? Leila: NO Me: Why? Leila: The brush gets stuck. It's tanguly. September 23 I'm changing Lexi as soon as the girls get up, Leila is laying in her bed and she says, "This house is ugaly" Me: Excuse me? Leila: This house is ugaly. Me: NO it's not. Leila: Yes it is. Me: What makes it ugly? Leila: It just has ugly colors. Aubrey yells from the bathroom: Who said that? Leila: Just me. September 25 Me: what are you going to be for Halloween? Leila: a costume. September 26 Leila: what are we going to do on Sunday? Me: stay here and maybe clean some more. Leila: no let's watch a church movie. Me: okay which one? Leila: Diego!!! October 16 Leila walks into the office.... Me: No Leila come out. Leila: But I need to do hard work! Me: Why? Leila: I need to do hard work so people can get jobs!!!! October 26 Leila's prayer on lunch. "Heavenly Father, we love the food, we love Lexi, and we love to eat, we love Jesus Christ Amen" And this my friends is why I want to stay home all day with my babies! October 26 The best one yet! November 11 Getting ready for church yesterday. Me: Leila where is your church bag? Leila: Right here She gives it to me and it is heavier than normal. I open it and find one of my hand weights in it. Me: Leila what is this doing in here? Leila: Oh.... I thought we were going to exercise. November 14 Leila was sitting on the potty and said... Leila: There's a fish in the potty daddy! Aubrey: Oh Leila: And it's made out of POO! jk daddy! November 15 Leila is jumping on the bed. Me: oh now I have to take a toy away. Leila: NO!! Me: then why are you jumping on the bed? Leila: cause I don't have a trampoline. November 19 Leila: Can I get a sucker tomorrow at church? Me: Yes if you are good. Leila: Okay I will be good. Me: Okay Goodnight. Leila: And I will be good for presents. Me: Okay Goodnight. Leila: And I will be good to ride the train to salt lake city. Me: Okay Goodnight. Leila: And I will be good to ride the train at the mall. Me: Okay then be good and go to bed right now. November 19 Me: Go and eat your food please. Leila: But I'm all done. Me: Alright let's go see. Leila: A No I don't want to look! (As she stands in the door way and tries to keep me in the office.) November 21 Leila took the cushions off the couch and is standing on it. Me: Leila you need to put the cushions back on the couch. Leila: Um here I can be a cushion! (She lays down) November 21 I'm laying in bed with Leila. Leila: Can we kiss? Me: Yes (We kiss on the lips) Leila: Now we're married! Me: hahahahhaha no we're not! Leila: Yes, if we kiss we are married like you and daddy. November 21 We're listening to JB and MC singing All I want for Christmas is you. Leila: Why do they want me for Christmas? Me: Cause they love you! Leila: But I live with you. November 28 Me: You are so skinny! Leila: No I'm not. Me: Are you small, medium, or large? (Thinks for a second) Leila: Small Me: What makes you small? Leila: Skim Milk!!! That's my girl! November 28 We're getting the mail from the mailbox. Me: Bills, Bills, Bills, and bills. And you get newspapers (I hand her the ads) Leila: Why can't I have bills? Me: You don't want bills. Almost Done!

I'm still alive! Barely. jk I am almost done with Student Teaching!!!! (done by thanksgiving) It's fun but it doesn't compare coming home to my babies everyday! I can't wait to graduate and stuff my face with food and play video games! hahah Everything is going well but I am so ready to be DONE with school FOREVER!!!!

1. I don't understand how all of the sudden I am married and have two children. I have lots of moments where I ask Aubrey or Leila, "Where did you come from?"My family brings me the ultimate joy and I wouldn't trade it for anything at all! Everything just happens so fast.

2. I am strongly considering NOT being a school teacher. I will finish school and get my degree and license in the fall but I can't comprehend being away from my kids that much! I need opinions from both sides of the table. Pros and Cons. What would you do? What do you think?

3. I really have a hard time saying no to helping people. I get this desire to help everyone in my path from my dad. Fortunately, I have recently learned to not discriminate against who I help. I am better off helping them and letting the big guy be the judge of who deserves it and who doesn't.

4. I hope I NEVER get released as a ward missionary. I really do miss the Relief Society calling but I feel like this is where I belong for a long while. So we'll see. Again, I gotta let the big guy upstairs be the judge.

5. Aubrey thinks I'm addicted to working out. I think I just need to learn the difference between resting and being lazy. Ex. If I work out every morning at 630 for 4 days and I don't the fifth day, I feel lazy inside but really my body could probably use the rest. I guess I just need to train my thinking.

6. I NEVER want to move ever! The thought of a new house and a perfect neighborhood do attract me but I would rather fix this one up exactly how I like it and enjoy it forever. Once it's paid off just enjoy it. And the world is going to be bad where ever you go. We just need a really big fence to keep all the bad people out.

7. One of my biggest goals is to never look like I've had as many kids as I've had. I like surprising people when I say I've had two kids. It's only going to get harder like when I have like 6.... but physical appearance/fitness are important to me and my p. blessing talks a lot about my physical body. I want to keep it in tip top shape! For me and Aubrey.... hahahah

Final Grades!

DONE!! and I've got the grades to prove it. 17 credit hours. Why do I do that to myself? I have never gone to school less than full time but I guess it's paying off. See for yourself.

I'm satisfied with a GPA of 3.78! I need to celebrate.

It's never felt this good to throw away papers. Seriously. It feels so good. Como se de se.... ONE MORE SEMESTER?

Almost done

So this next couple of weeks is going to be busy and I mean that I have a lot to do not like I plan to be super productive. Sad huh? Well school has always been like that for me. I care enough to get it done but that is about all. If something arises for me to be with my family instead of course I'll go but there are times when I just need to buckle down.

My schedule for the next couple of weeks:

4/10 - Dad's birthday at 6.

4/11 - Write lesson plan for adapted PE at Roy Elementary, no afternoon school, work on UPT portfolio, Finish Feng Shui layout for Geography, FHE.

4/12 - "Performance" of my Step Dance at Weber with morning class. Observe/Teach at TH Bell.

4/13 - First aid certification at the hospital, Disabilities notebook due, teach obesity and fastfood lesson to my kids at TH Bell. Fill fat jars ahead of time and get bags from fast food places.

4/14 - Observe/ Teach health at TH Bell, Teach class at Studio Blue, Mary Kay party at Camille's house.

4/15 - Teach adapted PE at TH Bell, Final day teaching health at TH Bell, Attend Jenny's Art show, student case study due.

4/16 - Attend AFAA workshop, write contextual factors, write a journal critique, edit professional philosophy. Compile all verification of AFAA credits to recertify.

4/17 - Relax on the sabbath.

4/18 - Teach adapted PE at Roy Elementary, Video evaluation of teaching. Disabilities final due, student and teacher evaluations due for Gowans, FHE.

4/19 - UPT Portfolio due, FINAL Check out! Partner and individual check out due, student evaluations due for Alexander. Teacher Work Sample due.

4/20 - Smoke to celebrate! Sike. Geography final.

4/22 - Dinner with the family to celebrate Jenny graduating.

Then I should be done and have another !17! credits under my belt. ONE MORE SEMESTER...I want to celebrate by getting a pedicure, getting my hair done again, and maybe I can even convince Aubrey to take me on a date hahah.

And I'm really bummed that Sarah and Chris are moving. : ( We have enjoyed being their friends and we really love them. Hopefully we'll be able to get together once in a while either in California or Utah. Sarah- we need a girl's night before your departure, no kids and no hubbies.

Finally got a new camera but I have yet to hook it up and see how the pictures look. I will soon.

So sorry that took forever for me to just plug in the camera and upload the dang pictures. Well I was looking at them and realized I didn't do a perfect job with the painting. But my dad warned me... that's what would happen if I had a "painting party." Well I don't regret it. We also had the carpets cleaned, shined the wood paneling, dusted everything, and cleaned out the storage room and pantry from when Aubrey's parents had stuff down there.

Unfortunately it isn't over. Time came for our renters to move in and I never finished painting the entryway to go downstairs because no one could reach the ceiling and I didn't have a stick to use. Anyway the thought of it unfinished still haunts me. One day we will decide to use that basement and put just as much work into it as upstairs. (maybe) Anyway for now, I am DONE.

I really like our new renter. She lives there by herself and when she gets married at the end of May her husband will move in. I hope to have the painting completed as a wedding present. I'm really nice I know. To sum it up in one word...... Spent (yes this time I mean time, energy, and money).

Now.... I can focus on my teaching. I start teaching 8 grade health at TH Bell tomorrow! I'm really excited so wish me luck!

I have a feeling this dog will be here longer than our last one. Aubrey found him free off ksl (again) and he's super good with our babies. Potty trained, doesn't bark, doesn't shed, doesn't eat a lot of food. Drawback... he's definitely not the dog to go running with but he's small enough for Leila to walk. Let's hope Aubrey doesn't decide he needs a friend.

I'm spent. I think I will be until school is over. Spent.... like it's past, happened already but I'm still going? Does that make sense? Okay so I'm going into energy debt. I think I'll need a nice massage, pedicure, manicure, and hair do to balance out my energy account after the semester. Anyway, the best dad in the world (my dad), and I just finished tiling the marble counter top downstairs. I've still got to seal it and find an edge piece but it's done. Now for the bathroom floor........

Ughhhhh....... School

School is keeping me busy and I'm finishing up week 7. Counting the days has really helped time fly so that is good.

We found some good renters and I still need to do a lot of work on the basement before our renters move in so that's what been up.

I'll write more when I have the energy.

Also, I need to do something about my facebook account. I like millions of people spend too much time on it when there is really nothing new going on, so I think I am going to have Aubrey change my password and keep it from me for a while.

Taxes

How do you do your taxes?

This year I am using Turbo tax. We usually have an accountant do it because Aubrey's mom has always gone to him. He charged us a lot last year but he made sure everything was right.

So I'm going to do most of the work and then compare with the accountant and see what is better for us.

Spent!

Man I am spent... physically. Hollie my oldest sister is moving to Tucson tomorrow morning so I spent most of the morning packing up boxes, loading up my truck, driving to the DI, and stuff. It was fun and the weather was good but I was just so exhausted when I got home. But... I got home and saw how much cleaning my house needs. Plus I just brought tons of stuff home from my sisters to store until the playroom becomes existant at my parent's house. Anyway, I wanted to get it all taken care of and put away to I started cleaning and working on the basement.
My dad talked me into buying marble tiles for the kitchen countertop downstairs so I hauled 30 pieces of marble downstairs... fun! I was getting a workout so I did enjoy it but I was just tired. So I'm working on the basement because I see that my Christmas stuff needs to be put away, I go to put it in the storage room and realize all those nasty spider webs are still up on the ceiling so I get the vacuum and start sucking up those nasty cob webs. Man there was a lot of sacs and spider bones.. Gross. I have no idea when the last time was when they were cleaned up. Well it's done now so that is good. Well then I see that I still have some time before the ward party so I get out the paint and start painting the kitchen. Yes, I'm giong to paint the kitchen and the hallway, entry way, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. The place is old and man it needs it bad. I can't believe how nasty the walls are down there. Had I known we were going to buy this house I would have overhauled it while I lived down there. So anyway I got a lot done today and I got to relax at our ward party by playing some games with some of my bestest friends in the world/ward. I tell Aubrey all the time, "I NEVER get to play games." Ya know like real games before technology took over. My family used to really like to play games and we have over 100 but it's like pulling teeth and then a root canal to get anyone to play with me. Aubrey knows that I always want to play games. He was good about it, let me play and even played with me. I LOVE HIM.
So I got home and started painting again but I want to get it done dang it. Aubrey talks about moving and like real soon but honestly I can't see myself living anywhere else than in this house, that I'm investing all of my time and memories into.
We'll see what happens and where that takes us but I've still got until December until I graduate. Don't even get me started on school................

Aubrey and I are going to the Northern Utah Marriage Celebration in a couple weeks. I am really excited to go and I've heard it is always really good. And it's right in our own front yard at Weber State how cool is that.

Well my blog is looking a little dusty.

School is keeping me busy on top of doing practicum experiences at TH Bell and Roy Elementary teaching Adapted Physical Education, playing with my babies, redecorating/ remodeling the basement, showing the basement to potential tenants, dealing with more insurance (we got robbed), teaching and attending fitness classes (lovin my biceps right now), and being the best wife in the world. Other than that things are going okay.

A lot is changing suddenly in my family life, crazy things are going on with some of my siblings and emotionally I feel like I'm keeping my head above water, barely. I feel like if I don't keep myself in check it will catch up to me. Feelings like this are okay but it's hard to just let it all out. Anyway I'm doing good and like I've said before, I'm still alive.

I love my life and everything in it.

This is what I have been doing lately- counting my blessings. I have the life. It's not perfect and it's not everything I though I wanted. I have the family most people wish they did. I have what I need and more. I have people that care about me. They love me for who I am. I have the gospel. I have my savior. I have Aubrey. He treats me so good and I don't know what I would do without him. I have a fat little baby who does NOT stop smiling. I have a skinny lanky talkative mini me. I am healthy. I have loving parents. I have loving siblings who I try to emulate. I can't live without them. I love my life. It can only get better. I know who I am. I know where I came from. I know where I am going, and I know I will be with my family FOREVER.

Class, school, STEP CLASS!!!

Hey all you readers, I hope you are coming to my step class tomorrow. I am still sore from my early morning class yesterday but I know you won't be disappointed.

And I just have to say how BORING school is this semester. I'm in the teaching program and it's just not that interesting to me. Is that a problem? It may be since I plan on becoming a teacher. Aubrey and I often say that it is completely OK if I choose not to get a job. I LOVE that. I love that I don't feel obligated to use my degree. I love that we don't need the money. Yes it would be nice but we don't NEED it. I love that I can stay home if I want. I love that I'll have a back up plan. Wow it really sounds like a won't be getting a job. Well teaching isn't going to be like sitting through the education program. I will be out there teaching students how to be healthy and stay physically active for their life. That is what I enjoy and that is what I want to do whether it be in the school setting or at home.

Well this is kind of a lame post but I think maybe I just needed to get it out a little and give you a post dang it. Sorry it's not cute and doesn't have any pictures. I will not neglect my blog even though I should be doing homework.

Again I will say come to my class. It will be so much fun!

Notice that it expires on the 15th so that doesn't give you much time to use it. So get off your butt and come enjoy a fitness class. Prices have come down to so if you like it enough maybe think about a membership.
